DO YOU SUPPORT CORINTHIANS?

Why I support Corinthians
By Kimmo 'Rívinho' Riite

Why? Well, living in Finland, we didn't used to see much of the comings and goings of Brazilian national football series before 1995 when Eurosport began their Samba football program. Even before that I had realised that Brazilians are the world's best footballers (& not the Finnish!) so given a chance of getting to watch the real action from the real source, I was keen to 'find' a team to support. As it happened, amidst all the wonderful skill and outrageousness, one player soon caught my eye: o Marcelinho Carioca!!! And there it was: the best player in the best team of the best footballing nation.

Now, of course, there's no more Samba footie on Eurosport but the Internet manages more or less to cover that gap.

I saw three Corinthians matches when I visited São Paulo and of course I have seen many more on TV. I've visited the hq's of the Gaviões as well. Well, I could go on and on and bore everybody to death, but I'll do that some other time.

Obrigado & abs,
Kimmo 'Rívinho' Riite
