MONDAY - 11 JULY


IT HAS BEEN A GOOD WEEK FOR ….

Javier Mascherano -
Completed a big-money move to Corinthians and was named man-of-the-match, as his new team defeated Palmeiras in "The Derby".

Fred - The youngster further endeared himself to the Cruzeiro fans, by scoring the winner against local rivals Atlético Mineiro.

Ivo Wortmann - His name reverberated around the Alfredo Jaconi Stadium, as his last game in charge of Juventude ended in victory. Wortmann will now take charge of Dynamo Moscow but has vowed to return to the Caxias do Sul outfit in the future.

Gabriel - .The wingback almost joined Real Betis last month but on Sunday, he netted the winner as Fluminense defeated Botafogo in "The Grandfather Derby".

Evandro - His solitary strike earned Atlético Paranaense their first league win of the season.

AND A BAD WEEK FOR ….

Celso Roth - After losing against São Paulo, his position as Flamengo coach is as perilous as the club's position in Serie A.

Renaldo - His team may have won comfortably but the former Deportivo La Coruna forward missed two penalties for Paraná against Figueirense - he had never previously failed to convert a spot-kick.

Dário Lourenço - Was criticized by striker Romário before his side lost at home to Internacional.

Cleber - The veteran defender had a goal disallowed, conceded a penalty and was then sent-off as Figueirense lost at Paran´

Henrique - Atlético were winning 1-0 before he earned a needless red-card for a bad tackle. Cruzeiro equalized from the resulting set-piece and with the numerical advantage, went on to win 2-1.


MONDAY - 04 JULY


IT HAS BEEN A GOOD WEEK FOR ….

Adriano and his Seleção team-mates -
"The Emperor" inspired the his country to Confederations Cup glory, winning the competition's Golden Shoe in the process.

Márcio Amoroso - The experienced forward has excelled since returning to Brazil. Scored again in midweek as São Paulo beat River Plate to reach the Copa Libertadores final.

Marcelinho Carioca - The ex-Corinthians superstar capped off a man-of-the-match performance for Brasiliense against Atlético Paranaense, with the winning goal in the dying moments of the game.

Marcinho - The Palmeiras midfielder-cum-forward netted his second hat-trick of the season to isolate himself as the Campeonato Brasileiro's top scorer.

Mazinho Lima - The Fortaleza midfielder netted a brace, to send Corinthians back to São Paulo pointless.
