FUTEBOL THE BRAZILIAN WAY OF LIFE                               www.ofutebol.com

Hi futebolista,

Again! Brazil reached the final of the U17 World Championships last night when they beat Turkey in dramatic fashion. The Selecao threw away a three-goal lead during the game but with extra-time imminent, Igor scored to clinch a 4-3 win.

Eight years ago the competition helped launch the career of Ronaldinho, who inspired Brazil to victory. This time around it's a player nicknamed 'The New Ronaldinho' who has been grabbing the headlines – Gremio starlet Anderson.

Back home, the Brasileiro was thrown into confusion with the expose of a match-fixing scandal. Police arrested a referee and there is a large possibility than some of the 11 matches he reffed this year will be annulled and replayed.

Marcio Bittencourt only took Corinthians from near the bottom of the league to the top. And how was he repaid? With the sack - yes, it's the absurd 'dance of the coaches' season.

Antonio Lopes was swiftly named as his replacement and on Sunday, he will get his first taste of Brasileiro action in the hot-seat when Brasiliense arrive at the Pacaembu looking to upset the party. Eduardo Ratinho, Roger and Tevez are a handful for any defence but Brasiliense's Vampeta and Marcelinho Carioca will be keen to get one over on their old club.

And Round 29 sees Internacional host Fluminense with the Brasileiro lead at stake. Only one point separates the two teams. With Jorge Wagner and Rafael Sobis on show for Inter and Petkovic and Tuta lining up for Flu, this one could go either way.

These are the current standings;

1 - Internacional 51
2 - Corinthians 50
3 - Fluminense 50
4 - Goias 47
5 - Santos 47
6 - Palmeiras 45

Enjoy the weekend, amigos.
