FUTEBOL THE BRAZILIAN WAY OF LIFE                               www.ofutebol.com
Weekly Newsletter, 02 December 2005

Hi futebolista,

It's all down to the last match. On Sunday the Brazilian championship comes to a potentially thrilling finale. But more of that later.

First, we'd like to introduce the latest Brazilian football fashion brand - OK, maybe it's the only Brazilian football fashion brand. It's called Futebolarte.com, is run by us, and our first T-shirt is now available. It's a tribute to Garrincha and we think it's really rather cool - and funny too. Check it out.

The idea is to get well-known Brazilian illustrators to design shirts inspired by Brazilian football. It's the perfect Christmas present for any one who loves the Selecao.

Back to the Brasileiro, Corinthians need just a point to win the title but face a difficult trip to third-placed Goias. Should they slip up, Internacional could be crowned champions if they manage to defeat - and relegate in the process - Coritiba.

Coritiba must win to stand any chance of surviving at the expense of either Ponte Preta or Sao Caetano, both of whom require just a point to retain their Serie A status.

Another rip-roaring contest in prospect sees Palmeiras take on Fluminense for the final Libertadores Cup place. A draw would be good enough for Flu to qualify for South America's most prestigious club competition, while Palmeiras need all three points.

These are the current standings with two rounds remaining;

1 - Corinthians 81
2 - Internacional 78
3 - Goias 71
4 - Fluminense 68
----------------------
5 - Palmeiras 67

17 - Sao Caetano 49
18 - Ponte Preta 48
----------------------
19 - Coritiba 46
20 - Atletico-MG 44 (relegated)
21 - Paysandu 41 (relegated)
22 - Brasiliense 41 (relegated)

Brazilian outfit Internacional have resigned themselves to losing emerging forward Rafael Sobis, with Italian giants Inter Milan reportedly prepared to pay 10 million euros to sign him. Internacional are hoping to replace him with CSKA Moscow headliner Daniel Carvalho.

Finally, ambitious Cruzeiro want to sign Santos ace Giovanni and Alex of Fenerbahce, Palmeiras have Edmundo and Porto's Diego in their sights, and goal-getter Deivid could make a return to Santos.

Enjoy your weekend, amigos.
