Hi futebolista, In a stunning final last night, Sao Paulo beat Atletico Paranaense 4-0 to win the 2005 Libertadores Cup. The triumph also guarantees the club a place alongside Liverpool, in December’s FIFA World Club Championships – we can hardly wait. On Sunday, we will get a chance to see Sao Paulo in action as the Campeonato Brasileiro serves up another classico. Reigning Brazilian Champions Santos entertain the newly-crowned club champions of South America, in a match both sides will be desperate to win. And Round 12 of the competition has another mouth-watering game in prospect, as Rio’s two biggest clubs Flamengo and Vasco, go head-to-head. The two rivals detest one another and the fact that both are positioned in the relegation zone, will only intensify this hatred. These are the current standings; 1 - Ponte Preta 23 2 - Fluminense 23 3 - Internacional 22 4 - Santos 21 5 - Corinthians 19 In the news this week there has been talk of a colossal swap deal involving Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo and Inter Milan’s Adriano. And with Robinho’s departure imminent, Santos aim to appease their supporters by landing Real Betis ace Denilson – his impressive array of flicks and tricks would be sure to thrill the club’s supporters. Have a great weekend. Oh, and enjoy the game. Ate logo... Alex, Ian & Mark (the Ofutebol team) Visit: www.ofutebol.com |
