Hi futebolista, After impressing as Cafu's replacement during the Confederations Cup, Sao Paulo's flying wingback Cicinho is poised to move to Europe. The latest news is that his destination could be Old Trafford. The Premiership will certainly be a livelier place with him accelerating down the right flank. As Cicinho was in Europe this week speaking to potential buyers, his club Sao Paulo continued their miserable run in the league. The Libertadores champions are now in the relegation zone after going eight matches without victory. Meanwhile, archrivals Corinthians are still top and this Sunday they meet second placed Ponte Preta. Carlos Tevez returns from suspension to boost the Corinthians attack while Ponte will be hoping that Kahe, their ten-goal striker, lives up to the occasion. Palmeiras are the form team at the moment - they have gone seven games unbeaten since former Santos coach Emerson Leao took over. On Saturday, they face ninth placed Internacional knowing that victory will see them leapfrog above their opponents in the table. Incredibly, only four points separate the top ten teams in the division. These are the current standings; 1 - Corinthians 35 2 - Fluminense 34 3 - Goias 33 4 - Ponte Preta 33 5 - Cruzeiro 33 6 - Parana 33 7 - Santos 32 Pele has been in the news this week. The Brazilian legend is set to appear on a chat show in Argentina, hosted by Diego Maradona. And another Argentine has been making the headlines in Brazil. Barcelona forward Javier Saviola is wanted by Santos, as a replacement for Robinho. Finally, there has been a lot of talk surrounding the future of the latest golden boy of Brazilian futebol - Fred. The Cruzeiro striker's sensational scoring run continued on Wednesday, with a brace against Botafogo making him the league's joint top scorer. The word is that he will be playing in Europe sometime soon. Be sure to enjoy your weekends, amigos. Ate logo...
